Crochet Pattern for a 3X Small Dog Sweater
History
You, don't know how many of these I've made over the years. I've had the pattern in my head for the longest time and I especially like to see people watch me when I have to wait for appointments and I can go from a ball of yarn to a tiny small sweater before my name gets called. Usually, people then ask me what I'm making. I've also had young girls want to learn to crochet after they see what can be made, that's why I've been wanting to write this pattern down to share.
It would be especially cute to make a few of these for your pretend toy dogs, I know they make some that go with many dolls that I think are just adorable.
Also, I've always thought a nice gift for someone living in a small space that doesn't have room for a real pet anymore would be to buy them a small toy animal and give them different sweaters and their own little wardrobe.
Patterns
As promised I'm listing the pattern for my smallest crochet dog sweater as a free pdf download. These are so fun to make and perfect for a toy puppy or even a stuffed animal.
You can use larger yarn and needles if you want and easily get a larger size. I also have my 2XSmall, XSmall, and Small patterns listed on my Etsy site for download for a small fee.

(Note: The crochet dog you see displayed in the above photo is not included with this pattern. I just barely made it so I'd have a little toy dog to display my sweaters on. If I make some more I'll also try to write down the pattern for it so I can share it down the road.)
Size
This little sweater averages about 5 inches in length and 7 inches around. Depending on what yarn and needle you use, you can easily vary the size the more you make the pattern repeatedly.

I will be recording a couple videos to go along with the patterns and posting them to youtube and here in addition to the printed pattern.
Instructions
I like to crochet without having to constantly stop and tie off yarn, so you will find I do a lot of twisting in my patterns. But once you get used you will find you can crochet a lot faster. If you have any trouble or hints for following this pattern feel free to leave comments. I will be happy to review them and it will help me improve this and other patterns and help others complete them.
Note: if making for a real live animal, please make sure the neck is not too tight, and please monitor at all times when wearing.
